How to Factory Reset Sony Xperia Z3

We have our own reasons why we factory reset our device. Maybe we want to delete all the files and restore the device to its original state. It could also be the device may be malfunctioning or so slow and it needs to be reset.

Restoring the default settings or factory reset your device will delete all your files. It is recommended to backup your important files on your computer before attempting to reset your device.

There are two ways on how to reset your Sony Xperia Z3. One is to erase everything, wiping your files and restoring the default settings. The other one is to reset the device without deleting your personal data.

To perform the data factory reset.

To avoid permanent damage to your device, do not restart your device while a reset procedure is underway.

1. Before you start, make sure to back up any important data that is saved on the internal memory of your device to a memory card or other non-internal memory.  

2. From your Home screen, tap "Apps icon".  

3. Find and tap Settings Backup & Reset > Factory Data Reset.  

4. To delete information, such as music and pictures, from your internal storage, mark the relevant checkbox.  

5. Tap Reset phone.  

6. If required, draw your screen unlock pattern, or enter your screen unlock password or PIN to continue.  

7. To confirm, tap Erase everything.


Warning: To avoid permanent damage to your device, do not restart your device while a reset procedure is underway.
