How to Factory Reset (Hard Reset) iPhone 6s

Restoring the default settings or factory reset your iPhone 6 will delete all your saved files. It is recommended to backup your important files on your computer before attempting to reset your device.

We have our own reasons why we factory reset our device. Maybe we want to delete all the files and restore the device to its original state. It could also be the device may be malfunctioning or so slow and it needs to be reset.

The steps below are the instructions on how to factory reset your iPhone 6:

Step 1. On your iPhone, go to "Settings".

Step 2. Select "General" option.

Step 3. On the bottom of the screen, tap "Reset".

Step 4. You will be seeing a list of things which you can reset. If you want to reset all the content, select "Erase All Content and Settings".

Step 5. Tap "Yes" to confirm the action.

Hard Reset / Factory Reset will restore your device to its initial state and will delete all your files. It is advisable to back up your important files before doing the reset process.


Restarting HTC Device (Soft reset)

If HTC Device is running slower than normal, is unresponsive, or has an app that is not performing properly, try rebooting and see if that helps solve the problem.

1. If the display is off, press the POWER button to turn it back on. If you've set up a lock screen, you need to unlock it.

2. Press and hold the POWER button, and then tap Restart.

3. When asked to confirm, tap Restart. 

If your HTC Device is not responding.You can still restart it by Pressing and hold the POWER and VOLUME UP buttons for at least 10 seconds. HTC Device then restarts.


Resetting HTC Device (Hard reset)

If HTC Device has a persistent problem that cannot be solved, you can perform a factory reset (also called a hard reset or master reset). A factory reset reverts the phone back to its initial state — the state before you turned on the phone for the first time.

The following will be removed from the phone when you do a factory reset:
  • Your Google Account
  • All accounts you've added in Settings > Accounts & sync and the data associated with these accounts
  • Personal data that you've created or synced to the phone such as your profile, contacts, messages, email, calendar events, and more.
  • System and application data and settings
  • Downloaded apps
Files such as your music, photos, videos, and documents can also be deleted from the storage, if you chose to do so. Be sure to back up any data and files you want to keep before you do a factory reset.

A factory reset may not permanently erase all data from your phone, including personal information.

Performing a factory reset from settings

1. Go to Settings, and then tap Backup & reset.

2. Tap Reset phone.

3. If you want to delete media, documents, and other data from the phone storage, select Erase all data. 

To also delete media and other data from your storage card, select Erase SD card.

4. Tap OK.


Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons

If you can’t turn HTC Device on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC Device .

The Fast boot option in Settings > Power must not be selected.

1. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.

2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.

3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER
button.

Hard Reset:

Step 1. Turn off your phone.

Step 2. Press and hold together Volume Up + Power button for 5-7 seconds.

Step 3. Release the buttons when you see an Android icon, to enter Update (Droidboot) Mode..

Step 4. Select "Factory Reset" by using Volume buttons, and Power button to confirm.

Step 5. Then choose "Yes -- delete all user data".

Factory Reset:

1. On your Home screen, tap Apps.

2. Go to Settings, and select Backup & reset.

3. Tap on Factory data reset.

4. Then Reset phone.

5. Confirm by tapping Erase everything. You just need to wait while your phone deleting your files and restoring your settings to default.


Hard Reset:

1. Download Flashtool from Sony website: http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/

2. Make sure that the drivers for your USB data cable is properly installed.

3. Now turn your device off.

4. Press and hold Volume Down, and connect to USB cable.

5. Follow the instructions on your screen, and accept appropriate options.
