Hard Reset / Factory Reset will restore your device to its initial state and will delete all your files. It is advisable to back up your important files before doing the reset process.
Factory Reset:
1. On your Home screen, tap Apps.
2. Go to Settings, and select Backup & reset.
3. Tap on Factory data reset.
4. Then Reset phone.
5. Confirm by tapping Erase everything. You just need to wait while your phone deleting your files and restoring your settings to default.
Hard Reset:
1. Download Flashtool from Sony website: http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/
2. Make sure that the drivers for your USB data cable is properly installed.
3. Now turn your device off.
4. Press and hold Volume Down, and connect to USB cable.

1. Press and hold the Power Button and Volume Up key. for a few seconds.
2. Once the device will vibrate once, release the power button.
3. Remain holding the volume key down for 10 more seconds.
4. Your phone will vibrate again and then shutdown, indicating that the hard reset procedure is completed.
