One of Nokia's mid-range smartphones that was introduced this year in Barcelona was the Nokia Lumia 520. As Nokia's CEO Stephen Elop would say, these two latest flagships, Lumia 520 and 720, are packed with features found in their high-end phones but at a budget-friendly price. Nokia Lumia 520 is said to be Nokia's most affordable Windows Phone 8 device yet. But hey, here are some reasons why Lumia 520 is more than what its price suggest.
This bright-colored smartphone is powered by 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor and has a decent 512MB RAM with 8GB of internal memory. It also has a microSD slot expandable up to 64GB and a 1430mAh battery that can live up to 360 hours of standby time, 9 1/2 hours of talk time and 61 hours of music playback time. Well, for first time smartphone users, this one is pretty nice with its 4-inch display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. It may not stand a chance when compared with full HD display phones but with its price its most likely to be one of the best screens available. Just like the Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 520's screen works perfectly when you touch it evn if you're wearing gloves. It also carries 920 camera lens apps like the Cinemagraph,Smart Shoot and Panorama lens. The downside of this device is that it only sports a rear camera at 5 megapixels. It significantly lacks a front-facing camera which is common on any smartphones.
The Nokia Lumia 520 comes preloaded with Nokia's Here suite software like the Drive, Transit, Maps and Music app. It will be available in U.S through T-Mobile unlike its sibling Lumia 720 which may not be sold in US. Write-ups suggest that Lumia 520 will be available in second quarter this year. Lumia 520 comes in five colors- white,red, yellow, cyan and black. Nokia will also sell optional snap-on covers for this device.
