Sony Mobile is thrilled to announce its
latest software update for its own line of smartphones—the Xperia T and Xperia
TX. The software update includes adding new features and functionalities to its
existing operating system..wait…Ice Cream Sandwich? I thought we’re now on the
Jelly Bean era.
Sony might need some refresher to realize
they’re tailing behind those big smartphone players. And in case they missed,
Google just introduced Android 4.2 operating system or its new flavor of the
Jelly Bean. While other companies are upgrading their Ice Cream Sandwich phones
to Jelly Bean, Sony seems a bit relaxed and instead announces an update that
does away with the Jelly Bean upgrade mania.

Among the new functionalities as part of
the said update are the Screen Mirroring, Extended Standby Mode, HD Voice and
few new improvements on Sony’s media apps. To discuss few of what its upgrade
does, with Screen Mirroring, your Xperia T/TX will let you experience a
wireless interface via WiFi Minicast. Standby Mode has been increased as well
with standby time up to four times. Just touch your device and it will wake the
device up from standby mode with all functions running back to normal. And for
Xperia T, it has this functionality to filter out distracting background noise
even in a noisy environment for a better talking experience over the phone. To

Well, what’s the logic behind this rather
snail update? On a October announcement made by Sony, it said that it is focusing
the latest updates more of their new devices since it will be in demand
compared to the old ones. But Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V will soon be
upgraded to Jelly Bean not until February 2013. But no matter what they say,Sony just happens to be a slowpoke while the rest
are moving like the cheetahs in chasing the prey.
