End of Support for Windows XP by Microsoft

|

After 12 years of successful run by Windows XP, Microsoft decided that they will no longer be supporting Windows XP operating system starting on April 8. Many people across the globe are still using the OS Windows XP. Study shows that the OS still makes up for almost 30% of the desktop market.

Microsoft statement, "Microsoft has provided support for Windows XP for the past 12 years. But now the time has come for us, along with our hardware and software partners, to invest our resources toward supporting more recent technologies so that we can continue to deliver great new experiences,".

You can still use your Windows XP after April 8, but your computer may be vulnerable to security threats. It would really be great time to upgrade for a new computer just in case your will is not compatible with OS Windows 7 or Windows 8. As Microsoft said, "Not many computers will be able to run Windows 8.1, which is the latest version of Windows. You can check if your system is compatible for the latest OS with the help of Windows Upgrade Assistant. If your current PC can't run Windows 8.1, it might be time to consider shopping for a new one,". Additionally, "As more software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimise for more recent versions of Windows, you can expect to encounter greater numbers of apps and devices that do not work with Windows XP," Microsoft said.
