Want to have a copy of your Facebook photos, videos,
statuses and even comments straight to your PC? Well, Facebook made it possible
for you. Just some few clicks and a ton
of patience will do the trick. So what
does this digital copy includes? It includes all your wall posts and its
comments, photos, video clips, messages in your inbox, chat threads, and of course
the names of your friends. Wheew! It’s one heck of a file. Can’t beat that.
Well, here’s how you can download your Facebook file.
Step1. Once you’re logged in your Facebook account,
just click on that little arrow beside “HOME” and click on “Account Settings”
on the drop down list.
Step2. You will
then be redirected to the General Account Settings Page. Click then on the
highlighted “Download a Copy of your Facebook Data”
Step3. A new box
will then appear. Click on that green button “Start My Archive”.
Step4. Now you
just have requested Facebook for an archived copy of your file. You will then
get a notification below stating that you’ll receive an email once the file is
ready to download. For the mean time, just keep yourself busy by doing the
laundry or running some errands while you wait for that file as it may take
from couple of minutes to even hours.
Step5. Once you get the email from Facebook just
click on the link in the email and you’ll be asked then to type in your
password. You are now ready to download the file upon hitting the “Download
Archive” button. There you go! Make sure to remember the location where you’ve
saved the file. To view the information, just double click on “index.html” in
the folder.
