Background may not be too important, but it will somehow engaged your viewers to stay on your page because you have a comfortable and not an irritating background.
In blogger you can select your own background according to your preference. Where you feel comfortable with and might attract your viewers.
Below are the steps on how to change your background in blogger:
Step 1. Go to Template >> Customize.
Step 2. Among the options, select "Background" and click on the "Background image".
Step 3. Select the background that you feel most and click "Done". You also have an option to upload your designed background. Just click on Upload image >> Choose file >> Upload.
Step 4. On the upper right corner click on "Apply to Blog".
You have successfully change your background.
