How to Back Up Your Instagram Photos

|
You might not be aware of this but your favorite photo filtering app Instagram has changed its policy. Under its new policy, they have the right to sell its users' photos without notification and payment even for advertisement purposes. But Instagram has denied this by saying that it was their policy’s ambiguous wordings that stirred up its loyal users.

This amendment will make the website one of the world’s largest stock photo companies. Now if you’re not a fan of this policy and think it’s totally unfair on your part, then all you have to do is delete your Instagram account. But of course, before you do so, you need to back up your precious masterpieces before you wipe them out. Here’s how you can back up your Instagram photos.

1. If you have been sharing your Instagram photos to other social networking sites like Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr and so on, you are bit lucky then. However, if you wish to get a copy of your filtered photos right on your desktop, you can do so. Just go to http://instaport.me/ which is especially designed to back up Instagram photos.

2. Sign in to Instaport using your Instagram credentials. Or if you’re logged into Instagram, once you click on “Sign in with Instagram” on Instaport, you’ll be asked for authorization permission. Just click on authorize to proceed.

3. Now that your Instagram account is connected to Instaport. To proceed with the transfer stage, under Choose export service click on the first option which is Download .zip file.

4. Then click on the Start Export button. If you want to export a particular batch of photos, you can click on Advance Options above the Start Export button. It might take time to complete the process and Instaport may crash at some point since it has been fairly used by alarmed Instagram users. But you’ll have all your Insta photos downloaded by then.

5. After you have successfully backed up your photos, you can now delete your Instagram account for good. Go to your profile page and click on Edit Profile. Scroll down until you see “I’d like to delete my account” on the lower right corner of the page. Click it and presto! Goodbye Instagram.
