NOOK Color and NOOK Tablet New Software Update 1.4.3

For NOOK Color and NOOK Tablet owners, a new software update is awaiting for you. If you can't wait for the over the air update, then sideload/transfer the file for the latest software version now.

Improvements on the latest software update of the NOOK Color and NOOK Tablet:

• Zoom view in Comics and Graphic novels.
• 2-page display mode in viewing PDF documents and Page Perfect NOOK Books.
• Dynamic lists in Shop.

Other minor system enhancements like bugs already fixed.

To manually update your NOOK Color and NOOK Tablet to the latest software version, please follow the steps below.

• From your computer, click here for the NOOK Color software update file and click here for the NOOK Tablet software update file. Select Save and select Desktop as the location. 

     ***Please do not change the downloaded file's name and do not open the *.ZIP file. It may cause a failure in updating your NOOK device.

• Make sure that your battery charge is at 20% or above.

• Connect your NOOK Color/NOOK Tablet to your computer using the USB cable. There should be a removable drive will appear in My Computer (Mac users will see the NOOK drive appear on the desktop or in devices). You should also see a "USB Mode" message on your NOOK screen. 

• From your computer, just drag and drop the file (*.ZIP) you have downloaded  onto the main directory of the NOOK drive.   

     ***Please be reminded that you should not open or unzip the file. And should not create a new folder on the NOOK drive or add the file to any other existing folder. 

• Eject or Safely Remove the NOOK drive after the file is successfully transferred. 

• Your NOOK device will automatically recognize the file, and after a few minutes it goes to sleep mode, and proceed to install the new software updates. 

• Do not turn off your NOOK device while the installation process is still going on. 

• Your NOOK device will automatically restart and go to the unlock screen when the installation process is already completed.

• There should be a green "n" will appear on the bottom left status bar. Tap on it for more information; the software has been successfully updated on your device.
