How to Embed a Map into a Website or Blog

|

If you have a travel website or a blog, adding a simple map, driving directions or a local search is pretty informative when you want your viewers to get good information on places you wish them to visit. Now you can create a map through My Maps but make sure it appears in the current map display on Google Map to get a code to be added on your site. Here’s how you can embed a map into your site.

1. Cross check the map you wish to embed on Google Maps by searching the location on maps.google.com

2. Once you have the exact location, select a view type in the top right corner of the map. Click on the more arrows icon below Traffic for more options. Adjust the map to desired center and zoom level.

3. On Google Maps site click on that link iconbeside the print icon on the upper top portion of the left panel.

4. A box will appear with short URL and HTML code. Copy that HTML code and paste it into the source code of your website or blog. You can also edit the map to your desired size and look at the preview map by clicking Customize and preview embedded map.

You’re done!Take note though that you won’t be able to embed traffic maps and other Maps features into your site.
