Sony already made an announcement about the Jelly Bean update for their latest model of Xperia. The Xperia T, Xperia TX and the Xperia V will begin to receive the Jelly Bean update starting on February 2013. Sony is focusing the update more of their latest devices since it will be in demand than the older ones.
The Xperia S, Xperia acro S, Xperia ion, Xperia P, Xperia go and the Xperia J will also be upgraded to Android 4.1. But Sony did not mention to when it will start the update and will just give more information in time.
The later devices in 2011 Xperia portfolio will stick to Android 4.0.4 after a thorough evaluation. They have concluded that these devices will not be updated beyond Ice Cream Sandwich. But Sony will still to continue to support all the products by releasing firmware maintenance.
A lot of Xperia users are very disappointed with the decision made and consider this as a bad news.
Will the reviews of the Xperia users can change Sony’s mind? Well, it’s up to Sony and hope to upgrade the Xperia series much sooner to satisfy their users.
